2015-2016 Grants Announced

The Education Foundation of South Brunswick Township, Inc., announced the successful grant applicants for its 2015-2016 grants program.  Applicants could be awarded up to $500 for an individual grant or up to $1,000 for a cooperative grant.


The Foundation awarded nearly $9,400 in grants to members of the Brooks Crossing Elementary School (BC), Brunswick Acres Elementary School ("BA"), Constable Elementary School ("CO"), Crossroads North/South Middle School (XR), Crossroads South Middle School (XRS), Dayton Elementary School ("DA"), Greenbrook Elementary School (GB), Indian Fields Elementary School (IF) and South Brunswick High School (SBHS)  facilities.

Among the innovative ideas and programs the Foundation is investing in are:

Sensory Room Kelli Craparotta, Maureen Turkiewicz, Jennifer Hilderman (DA)
Family Night Events Lois Anzek (GB)
Library Maker Space Amy Dixon (BA)
Achieving Wellness Step by Step Rachel Atzert (IF)
Self Regulation Tool Box Susan Pazinko (BC)
Sitting is the New Smoking / Alternative Seating Aline Galvano and Dominique Talbot (IF)
WeVideo Melissa Needles (CO)
Tools for Kinesthetic Learners Kelli Zicha andTina Neely (XRS)
Mentoring Program- Teacher/Student Connection Misty Malanga and Michelle Terkildsen (SBHS)
Alternative Seating Standing Desks for students who have difficulty sitting still. Aida Gibbard (XRS)
Enriching Social Studies Content - Community Helpers Patti DelGuercio, Cristin Basha, Karen Kinsey, Terri Wells, Karen O'Brien (IF)
Learning in Motion- Hokki stools Jennifer Leach, Judy Federowicz, Christine McMahon (IF)
Archery Program Improvements CJ Hendricks (XR)
National Certification for individuals who coach at interscholastic level. Online certification programs. Elaine McGrath (XR/SBHS)

 

Since it began grants, in the spring of 2011, the Foundation has granted over $54,300.

The next application window will open during September 2016 for the 2016-2017 grant program.

It is the mission of The Education Foundation of South Brunswick Township, Inc., a (501)(c)(3) non-profit corporation, to promote and provide educational support and opportunities through innovative programs and projects. The Foundation will fulfill its mission by attracting and allocating financial and in-kind gifts of goods and services to and for the students of the South Brunswick School District.
